ROUNDUP: DRUNK MORONS DRIVING THE WRONG WAY ON ILLINOIS ROADS, FEBRUARY 2012

Date and time: February 3, 3:15 A.M.

Name and age of driver: Rakesh Baker, 23

Highway: I-55

Direction: Southbound in the north lanes, crashed into another car.

Fatalities and injuries: Baker and the driver of the other car both had serious injuries.

Booze: Charged with DUI, among other things.

WTF: Baker made it five miles going the wrong way on the Stevenson. He has a long rap sheet of driving offenses. Also, the 911 calls are incredible.

Date and time: February 4, 2:15 A.M.

Name and age of driver: Gustavo Vargas, 28

Highway: 1-80

Direction: Eastbound in the west lanes after getting lost and pulling a U-turn.

Fatalities and injuries: Four fatalities- Vargas, two of his friends, and the driver of another car.

Booze: Alcohol suspected. Vargas and his friends were returning from a strip club.

WTF: Sole survivor reports that before the crash, Vargas kept screaming “Are you guys ready to die?” 

Date and time: February 9, “early morning hours.”

Name and age of driver: Carneris Wiggins, 29

Street: Lake Shore Drive

Direction: North in the southbound lanes. Collision at Roosevelt Road.

Fatalities and injuries: Wiggins suffered multiple injuries and so did two passengers from one of the two cars she hit. They required surgery.

Booze: Arrested for felony aggravated DUI.

WTF: No insurance, no driver’s license with her.

Date and time: February 22, 4:20 A.M.

Name and age of driver: Vanessa Castillo, 25

Highway: I-80

Direction: Inbound in the outbound lanes, clipped a semi-truck and then collided with another car.

Fatalities and injuries: Castillo and the driver of the other car both had to be extricated from their cars. The other driver’s legs were broken.

Booze: Charged with DUI among other offenses.

WTF: No license, long rap sheet including a 2009 license suspension for failure to carry high-risk insurance.

Get your shit together, Chicago. You’re embarrassing me in front of New York.
